Recycle Your Old Computer Hardware, April 22
Cook Group Technology, LLC is pleased to once again offer free e-cycling services to our clients.
When?
On Saturday April 22, as part of the DC Department of Public Works program and Earth Day, we will be scheduling and picking up old computer equipment to be recycled (e-cycled) throughout DC.
Why is E-cycling Important?
Electronics can pose serious environmental hazards if not disposed of properly.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), consumer electronics are responsible for about 40% of lead found in landfills.
The primary concern is the possibility of lead leaking out of the landfills and contaminating water supplies. The EPA tells us that there are approximately four pounds of lead in each computer monitor and old television. As lead accumulates in the environment it can damage the human nervous system, the blood system, and kidneys.
What Can be E-Cycled?
Computers, laptops, monitors, printers, memory, fax machines, spare computer parts...
So, let's be part of the solution, not the problem.
